THE NEXT WAVE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The competition is open to South African citizens and permanent residents aged 18 to 35 who have an active public social media presence and are available to participate in auditions, recordings, and promotional activities.
2. Employees of the SABC and METRO FM, their immediate family members, and anyone directly involved in the administration, management, or judging of the competition are not eligible to enter.
3. The competition entry period runs from 01 August to 31 October. Participants may submit one entry only during this period.
4. To enter, participants must email an original 60-second video to thenextwave@metrofm.co.za before the closing date. The video must introduce the participant, explain why they should be the next METRO FM Summer Show co-host, and highlight what makes them stand out from other entrants.
5. Each entry must include the participant's full name, age, city/province, contact number, email address, and social media handles.
6. Entries that are late, incomplete, duplicate, submitted more than once by the same participant, or otherwise fail to meet the entry requirements will not be considered.
7. All submitted content must be original, respectful, and suitable for broadcast.
8. Eligible entries will be evaluated between 01 and 30 November based on personality, creativity, presentation skills, radio potential, authenticity, and audience appeal. The top four finalists will be invited to participate in live auditions.
9. Public voting may form part of the final selection process. Voting dates, rules, and mechanics will be communicated before voting opens. Any fraudulent, manipulated, or suspicious voting activity may result in disqualification.
10. The winner will co-host the METRO FM Summer Show, participate in station promotional activities, and receive national exposure across METRO FM platforms. The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or any alternative benefit.
11. METRO FM reserves the right to verify information provided by participants and to disqualify any participant whose entry is fraudulent, misleading, or in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
12. METRO FM also reserves the right to amend, suspend, postpone, or cancel the competition at any time if circumstances require.
13. By entering the competition, participants consent to the use of their name, voice, image, likeness, and submitted content for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes related to the competition without additional compensation.
14. Participation in the competition constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
