SABC WILL NOT BROADCAST CRICKET PROTEAS’ OUTBOUND TOURS

Today the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has announced that it will not provide full coverage of the South Africa’s England outbound tour, and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy starting on the 24th of May and the 1st of June 2017 respectively. Despite numerous attempts the SABC was unable to secure the rights. The Proteas’ tour to England consists of three ODI’s, three T20s and four test matches. The 2017 ICC Champions Trophy is a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament scheduled to be held in England and Wales between the 01 and the 18 June 2017. In order to serve its audience of ardent cricket fans, SABC Sport and Radio 2000 will make sure that all South Africans will be able to follow the progress of the team in England and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy through live hourly updates of the performance of the team during the tour and the tournament.
