23 May : PUT AN END TO XENO-PREJUDICE
METRO FM believes that the ongoing prejudiced acts against other fellow Africans have become a STATE OF EMERGENCY. We declare these atrocious acts inhuman and deplorable and we further urge everyone to join us in putting an end to this violence, especially on the eve of Africa Day--a celebration of what it means to be African.

23 May: As a Zambian, my proudly south african (naturalization) glow has dimmed. My heart has been so sore, i have been crying for the last two days. I have been here for 15 years now, and this is the place I call home. When I am in Zambia, I am home sick for SA. Tell me now, where do I belong? I am an African, but where do I belong?
LISSA SAYS:
23 May: I seriously don't understand what is happening. I am utterly disgusted at this outrage and for what? In 12 days so many people have died and I don't even understand the reasons behind this. What about our South Africans in the other African countries, what if the same violence that the foreigners here in Mzansi is inflicted on them? It won't be a national crisis any more but will turn into a continental thing, even global. I don't know what needs to be done, but something needs to be done and fast.
I never experienced apartheid but I get the picture quite clear now.
I am almost ashamed to call myself a proud South African. Saphela isizwe sa ba ntsundu.
I2LICIOUS SAYS:
23 May: It is funny that South Africans are saying that people from other countries are taking their jobs, they do not want to be the garbage collectors, street cleaners meanwhile the people from outside will do that job with pride. They are lazy to work, all they want is to get FREE money (grants), FREE houses (RDP) whilst some people go to find jobs. If i sit with a Human Resource Degree and i'm working as a PA to the company CEO, why can't they accept the position that are available at the minicipality or any other organisations that require an extra pair of hands. People should start thinking with their HEADS instead of their BUTTs.
ONGY SAYS:
23 May: I was thinking in my perfect world with no budget constraints and xenophobia attacks and parents thinking that I gave them late notice for the gathering, of having a lunch at my place in KWAMASHU DURBAN on Sunday hence it Africa Day and everyone would bring a dish from their country… We will celebrate all the ancestors that made it possible for us meet and thank the Lord for creating these beings e.g Kenyette, Steve Biko, Kwawunda (he’s not dead), the list goes on… It is not our clever ways that has got Africa, South Africa this far I know that for a fact…. I would have invite foreigners, locals who are my friends, but we can only hope sometimes…

23 May: Gandhi once said! There is no way to peace, peace is the way! This is a challenge to all Religous communities, that instead of sitting in churches and pray for consolation in our lives. it's about time that the God who also exists outside the four walls of our churches start to be heard by the entire universe and by the killers who have lost humanitarian conscience. If thousand people are perpetuating this afro-phobia, millions good hearted people can come together and eradicate such non-sense. Somebody once uttered that "bad things are happening because good people are doing nothing. We are all actors in the drama of human life! and we are all interconnected.

23 May: South Africans must remember, they fought apartheid outside South Africa..Mandela was in Botswana, Mbeki was housed by Zimbabweans, Zuma in Zambia..im am originally from S.A but right now im proud to have not been raised in that country...the govt has to take serious action against such activities, our fathers did fight to free that country so that we can freely show our ignorance and how idiotic people can be!!! matlhabisa ditlhong e le ruri!

23 May: with Africa day coming on the 25th of this month i wonder what exactly will we be celebrating, will we be celebrating the beauty of Africa, the people of it's continent and i feel that this is such a coincident that the whole Xenophobia had erupted in this month, it just goes to show that we are an ignorant nation...i guess the day will have to be about condemning all the wrongs and generaly educating people more about certain things with hope that there will be ears to listen and ofcouse pat tribute to all the innocent lives which had fallen in a country they sought peace and security in.

23 May: We have to feel for and think of, those suffering pain and loss in these troubled times. However, although they may have broken bodies, they still have their humanity intact. The perpetrators have whole bodies, but a badly broken humanity. They may have lost their humanity entirely. They also need our thoughts and prayers to help them back to humanity. 23 May: despite the fact that i think the attacks are heartless and unnecessary, it must be known that there are two sides to every problem and in this case it is the authorities to stop the fighting. try telling an angry person on the street who has been waiting for thier id for more than 3 years and has no job that the foriegners are innocent. its time for the government to step in

23 May: what kind of a nation are we if we fight each other like this? we have a lot to deal with as south africans like the chrisis of petrol, load shading, inflation etc rather than killing & hurting our fellow brothers & sisters for no reason.it doesnt make any sense to hurt someone who bleed the same blood as you do and him or her die. that is so heartless. people should stop this madness & focus on somethings that will make south africa a more better place to live in for years to come, especially to attract more tourists because they boost our economy. how can we be an attractive country if this xenophobia thing is getting the best of us? it has to stop!!!

23 May: A fool is a fool. I'm starting to understand why Australia is gearing up for 2010. For now areas hardest hit by "this" are "poor" areas. How do you teach a poor fool to live life and stop blaming other people for his/her condition. They stopped blaming apartheid. I'm just wondering who's next. The part that breaks my heart is the black on black violence. How many white foreigners do we have in this country, and...NOTHING. Let the soldiers ram these fools until slimy, watery, shit comes out, let them rot in jail. We can chat/comment all we want I just hope there's no retaliation. If a person has nothing to loose and decides to fight back, we'll shit ourselves.FOR NOW, WE PRAY FOR PEACE. I call this Gobbledgook.

23 May: There are so many South African living and working in other countries (Austalia, New Zealand, England, Dubai etc).
Those South African have businesses and own houses, I knw that the policies of dealing with foreign nationals in sone of those countries are more advanced that our policies here in SA but our people aren't brutally attacked (except for isolated cases). Imagine if countries of the world were to do to us what we are doing to other Africans just because they were unhappy with how their government deals with service delivery issues. We are going to look back at this time and we are going to regret this terriblly. The repercussions of these actions are going to be felt for a long time to come. People who are perpetuating and supporting these attacks are seemingly short sighted and what they are doing is not solving anything but only adding fuel to an already explosive fire.
This really saddens me. Whats worse is that our "Leaders" are not acting as effeciently as they should to put an end to this.
At this present moment I'm ashamed to be called a South Africa let alone a person of Africa!
BOOMPIE9 SAYS:
23 May: I woke up this morning earlier than usual to discover that my head felt heavy and its all because I have the flu virus. To me this means I won’t be able to eat well due to tastelessness of food. Not of work but for the love of food I decided to write this and work through my lunch instead. I also felt reluctant to come to work since after all I was sick (still am) but since you are reading this email then you know I made it to work, Yippee!!! Besides I know the drill: drink lots of water, sweat it out and recommended medication will do the rest.
Coincidentally the country suffers from a flu more deadly than the body weakening influenza. It is spreading faster than rumor, destroying souls quicker than any plague ever cautioned against by prophet or medical expect. Some educated minds call it XENOPHOBIA but I call it inhumanity in form of organized mob crime. Like the flu circulating my blood stream it can weaken and cause injure to the body but even more deadly- lives in numbers are in danger!!!. We do not have time for cause analysis. Our only hope lies in the expects of humanity- individuals not effected. Although they too can be infected, before it does we can do something about it. You see, one of the ways flu spreads quicker in is through contact with an infected person. We could shake hands and get it, we could talk and laugh and get it. We can imagine the intensity if it is passed through kissing!
This morning as I stumbled along to work, I happened to pass a bulletin board of DIE VOLKSBLAD, with heading = XENOPHOBIA attacks spreading to FREE STATE! Is our FREE STATE as free as it is stated?
We might be familiar with the story of the sparrow found by a traveler laying on its back on the road who coming upon the sparrow asked why she lay feet up facing the heavens. To which the sparrow replied ‘I heard the heavens will be falling soon you know . . . ‘ to which the traveler asked holding back laughter ‘ and you think your tiny feet can hold them up’ the sparrow’s response : ‘ one must do something you know’. That may altogether be not true but the moral is a cure. We can delay the decay from spreading. We who take public transport can shun it by not entertaining it. Over counter conversations, in the shopping cues, on petrol filling stations, over the phone with friends, relatives, our fellow workers need to know how we feel and maybe – just maybe our tiny and puny acts can stop this from spreading. The people we interact with the most are those who take our words, emotions and thoughts into actions just so the see us happy or find our approval.
I am not a man of many words but I know wrong from right. Am I asking for too much when I plea with those that know what I stand for to stand by me in this. Simply by standing and not moving back or forward!
One may argue about other criminal act raging through the country which also need attention and immediate action. One may also query about the more serious diseases that need immediate cure. little by little, bite by bite the elephant goes down the throat. You just cannot swallow it in one big lump.

23 May: ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT OUR GOVERMENT IS NOT DOING EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO STOP THIS HUMILIATING BEHAVIOUR. WHY ARE WE DISCRIMINATION AGAINST OUR OWN PEOPLE, WHY ARE WE RETALIATING AGAINST OUR OWN BROTHERS AND SISTERS. SOUTH AFRICA HAS GOT A LOT OF FOREIGNERS (BLACK, WHITE, GREEN, BLUE) AND WE ARE ONLY KILLING OUR OWN BROTHERS, WHAT HAS GONE WRONG WITH US. WHERE HAS UBUNTU GONE TOO? WE SEEM TO FORGET THAT WE ARE HERE TODAY BECAUSE OF THE SUPPORT OF OUR AFRICAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

23 May: It is a really a sad time when you see Africans killing each other for being different, it makes me wonder what the struggle in the 70s was all about , we fought for equality, freedom and democracy ,but now we are fighting for the opposite ,how do you look at a felow african and stone them to death or burn them to death ? is that ubuntu ? what are we teaching our kids. the bible says love thy neighbour .it is time we stop blaming other poeple for our own problems and fece the facts . our youth are out of control , everytime they have issues the look for someone to blame . Maybe if the got off their lazy behinds and tried to look for jobs, go to school and stop smoking and drinking and see opportunities instead of problems then they would have something to do instead of running around and killing inocent victims

23 May: I am a black Zimbabwean man living in the UK, i have been here for 8years and all the time i have lived here i have met a lot of of South African, fun enough in the UK we zimbabweans and south africans we are brothers in arms, and most of it we look after one another and most of the times we are fighting against white racism, some of the white British or the some of whites from Eastern Europe or Europe in general look at us as black skinned from Africa or the carribbean as all black africans so i am so much disturbed from what i am getting from black south africans as being xenophobias, lived here for those years have made me realise my true identity and who am i, and be proud of being an african with roots from africa as Indians would be proud of who they are withe values which they follow, so i am saying to fellow africans we need to work together and fight the racism which dorminate this world ans we need to unite to achieve the same goal., we have always worked together with south africans in zimbabwe all the way from the struggle against apatheid and we have always looked after one another, what iam saying to you south africans if we have a problem lets solve it in brotherly love and we can always achieve the goal!!!
PENNYHLAKULA SAYS:
23 May: Hello everyone,
I am in one state that i never thought i would be. I have not been living in my own fantasy land, nor have i been turning a blind eye to everything that is happening in the world.
For those of you that do not know my star sign, its Aquarius - the water-bearer. I was born to be a care-giver, to spread love, to nourish, to protect, and I have been a soldier of the world for as long as i can remember - which is why i feel i cannot keep quiet anymore. The only thing I feel I can do right now is to pray. I will tell you later what for.
For those that are not in South Africa, you might have seen on the
news, read or heard about the situation that we are facing in my country
(South Afri
ca). All over the country, there are groups of South Africans
that are attacking African foreigners and even some native South African
citizens are victims of these "Xenophobic attacks" - that is what they are called.
The situation is so bad that people hav ebeen burnt to death alive and other
severely from beatings. These people have been chased out of their houses,
shacks in areas where they lived among fellow Africans (including South Africans).
They are camping out in Police Stations, Church grounds, and wherever they can
find safe shelter. Some have gone home, some still want to go home, and this has
been the motive of the perpetrators to have the African foreigners deported and
sent back to their home countries (Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Malawi, Zambia,
Mozambique, Congo, etc.).
There are many reasons that are being debated about as to why all of this is
happening and I will not go into them. All I am going to say is that the top-two
most politically powerful men in South Africa (South Africa's President Thabo Mbeki
and ANC President Jacob Zuma) have not moved an inch to address this matter.
Many discussions have gone around and still continuing, but still no solution. The
Department of Foreign affairs and the president have made it clear that nobody
is going to be deported.
I am not going to go into the long argument of this, but what i would like to plead
with all of you is that you pray with me for this situation to come to an end. It is
not natural for one human being to inflict pain on another. It does not matter what
race, colour, age you are - nobody deserves to be treated this way period. At this
point I feel disgusted by my own people. I feel like crying but i wont because I know
that it wil not help. The world is truly strating to come to an end and Judgement day
is just around the corner.
I pray for God to go into these people and remove the evil that is causing them to do
such deeds. I pray that he gives them peace within themselves so that they may live
in peace with other around them. I pray for God to come down and not punish them
but to let them see that what they are doing is wrong. I pray for God to make them
realize that these "foreigners" are our blood brothers and sisters. To make them
realize that harming others is not a way to solve things. We are sinners by thought,
talking and by our actions. I pray to God to take care of things as he always has.
I have never felt so at war inside because I know that I cannot do much to
change the situation. Right now I cannot help by feel the pain of my fellow
brothers and sisters. I am crying for them as i am writing this email. I feel their
pain even though i can only imagine what they are going through. Its just too
now.
I beg of you to pray with me. Please ask your friends and families to do the same.
Thank you.

Most of them are losers who gave up school and now are claiming foreigners are taking their jobs. The very same jobs they, dispite their illiteracy, feel they are too smart to do. What irritates me even more is how government treat this issue. Some are using this platform to showcase their expertise by over-analysing the reasoning behind these disgusting actions instead of just harshly punishing these individuals to set an example so to avoid this terrible thing from spreading to ather provinces.

My heart bleeds to see things like this happening in South africa. I am even scared for Bafana bafana who are going to play in Nigeria, are they going to be safe? How can we as a country that will be hosting world cup 2010 be involved in things like this? It is unfortunate that those barbarics and morons doing these things won't get a chance to read what we say, listen to the news or read newspapers. I see the add on this TV regarding this and I say to myself, why use English? It is clear the morons don't understand English, nor understand the meaning of the word Xenophorbia. Use all languages so they can get the message. This is a slap on the faces of the people who worked harded to win the bid, fought for our liberation and freedom. It is just soo sad.

And the third force that is on everyone lips is just a bull****t, The government ignored this mess from the start until now when too many souls deserted us.
As a Tsonga speaking individual i feel very offended when something of this nature is directed to my mother tongue.

At the moment I'm in Durban and what I fear most is that the people here already hate foreigner's but they keep telling us that they hate apartheid yet we African hate each other ourselves. I now call SA my second home, but now I fear which home bcoz hoale baa re tebela and for no good reason.
NGCONDE SAYS:
24 May: Guys!
The solution to this is one! For South Afrikan people to stop doing the wrong things, I mean black or white is eye for eye, life for like ie you kill some you get killed, not by the people, but by the law and you steal you lose an arm. you rape you lose that organ that make you do wrong things.
The problem we have is the so called human rights people, these people are the to cause more problems, where were they when South Afrikan people were being hanged or killed for being political freedom fighters, who introduced this system and when?, I'm asking because I don't know miuch about this, but I must tell,it was introduced to protect certain people.
I am devoted man of God. not just a Christian, it's in the bible, in the Qur'an, that you better lose one organ than to fall into sin. I guess until we have such laws, then all will be well. I know some people have a question about what if an innocent man has been convicted, the investigation will take its tool, but if found guilty, you in for it.
Hate me or like it , but it's the truth and it can save the world, because some people think that killing someone for no reason is better. like when they ain't got nothing, if they wanna go to jail, they committe crime and they will live like kings in jail, so South Afrikan government I'm asking you introduce this, may be give it a try, forget the fact that many innocent people where killed, but look now more people are being likked for no reason, may by the virtue that they working hard for thei families. even yourselves, you short youselves in the foot, by stopping ti because white people who are killing innocent black people there at the farms could be in for it. eg Terebalnch, the guy who threw a man into the lions, with the help of some black brothers, the white boy who killed ten people in Petersburg last year and lots, even the black people who are killing and raping innocent white people. I'm standing for black people, but for the truth. people like Donavan, who killed innocent Mathews etc.
So I strongly believe life for life would be better for South Afrika, because I know South Afrikan people are born bad people, but the influences are changing them ,so if they know what's waiting for them, we won't have these stupid hero's.
I say life for life!.

TMAILOLA SAYS:
24 May: You call yourself a Human Being, a Being of emotions and soul but your actions are of person with no emotions, one with tattered veins of compassion. You claim to be an African but your actions are of a foreigner to this continent. You torture your brothers, you kill them, you burn them, you steal from them, you rape your sisters, you leave them with bruised faces, for you claim that they are not of your own but they are kwerekweres.
You should be ashamed of yourself, what makes you think that you are a better person than your other African brothers and sisters. Yebo, your are not of the same mother’s womb but you are all of the woman’s womb, you are all of the African womb. Your canal to life is of the same passage, what makes you think that your life is of more worth than that of a brother, a sister from Zimbabwe, from Congo, from Nigeria, from Mozambique, from Namibia, from Angola, Pakistan, from Algeria, from Somalia, from the Western Africa, yes you have guessed it, from the Southern Africa.
What happened to a black soul? Why do you think so cheaply of your fellow Africans? Is it because they don’t speak with a twang like you European friends? Is it because you fail to see value in the darkness of their skin and regard it as a curse? When are you gonna start learning to appreciate what is of your own? Yes, you are a South African in Southern Africa, therefore that makes of you an African, as much as Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Angolans, Namibians… are of Africa, they are Africans. You are brothers, you are sisters, you are a family that just happens to grow far apart from each other.
Why do you have to become an enemy of your brother? What happened to the love of human-kind? Or could it be that now you became less of a human? Of course you are not because you are not of your own creation and the one created you won’t change you into the “heartless bastard” that you are to become. You were raised to be of love and respect, you were raised to be a source of compassion and warmth, you were raised to be of hospitality and kindness but now you are developing hatred towards mankind, you are becoming more and more unwelcoming to your neighbours, the ones you are calling kwerekweres.
Helang bathong, what did human-kind do to deserve so much battering, hatred and inhuman treatment? Hey wena Kabelo, Thulani, Edward, Tinyiko, Siyavuya, Lesego, Scelo, Tshepo, Zanele, Karabo, Lindiwe, Mogau, Fulufhelo, S’busiso, Yandisa, Swart, I mean nawe Abel, Adam, Marcus, Thandekile, Tshidi, Lunga, Margret, Sthembiso, Shonisani, M’naka, kera le wena Kamogelo, Zodwa, Refilwe, Lesedi, Siyabonga, Emily, Mumsy, Nomathamsanqa, Themba, Silumko, whatever your name is. . . When are you gonna stop this abuse of human nature and start accepting that as human beings we were born to leave together as “animals” of love, compassion and ubuntu.
What is so Proudly South African about your actions? How could you say you are Proudly African while you can't cherish, appreciate and respect an African life? In actual fact you should be ASHAMED to be a South African. . . I AM REALLY ASHAMED RIGHT NOW TO CALL MYSELF A SOUTH AFRICAN. . .I mean how to I associate myself with such barbaric and inhumane acts... Me, Myself and I, Tshepo Leshake Mailola... I am saying NO to xenophobic attacks, please let us come together and put an end to this.
Lets us stop this xenophobic attacks on our fellow brothers and sisters, they are of the same woman as us. . . They were born of a mother just like us. They are cherished and valued just the way your mother thinks of you, so let us stop treating them like dirt for they are of our blood, they are of our spirit, they are of our soul, they are of our creation, they are of our own. . . They are our African brothers and sisters. Let us love them as we love ourselves. . .
With much love, respect and compassion for our fellow African brothers and sisters from Tshepo Leshake waga Mailola.

Where should I go if you beat me?
I’m not beating your father, mother, brother or sister who works at my area in the mines

I’m scared of working down the street without my ID
Whites wanted me to do those centuries ago
Now you, my black brother is acting white
Why should you Black South Africans do this?
What makes you think that you better than me?
Who told you that I’m responsible for your unemployment?
Who told you that I’m less human?

26 May: Ma-Afrika amandla!
Gud-mornimg Mafrika!
To all those who have been/are still heart broken, dissapointed, ashamed, hurting mostly my brother or sister Mleo, I wanna say to you, don't even think that South Afrikan people don't like you or they don't appreciate everything you have done for us(Sa) in the past, when Nubian people were facing dificulties. I am speaking on behalf of pure South Afrikans, who have not forgotten where we(as South Afrika) re coming from. Yes you were there for us, that's why most of our brothers and sisters have kids with some of you, it's all because of you and the love you had showen. Thanx a million times for that, we shall never forget.
You must understand when a man is not educated or trained, it's easy for the devil to convince such a person to do wrong, evil things, because he does not know his history. and another problem our fathers and brothers who were outside(exile) South Afrika have failed to write everything down in history books, still this is the problem we have about black hsitory, our future generation won't know about the good/bad past times, so it's gonna be easy for the devil to devide us and say bad things about us(as Afrikan) people
South Afrika loves you and appreciate everything about you! we are all hurting over this, lets wipe our tears and wear our smiles again and pliz still call South Afrikans (my brother) as you usual say, because real you re my brothers and sisters. In all South Afrika at large is very much sorry about, some people start things as jokes, because I believe some stupid started this as a joke and the devil heard this and took route. Dark skinned or light skinned, we are all Afrikans. We must help each other and solve our Afrikan problems. Where ever Iam, other nations call Black man, they don't say a black South Afrikan and when they refer to Nigerian man, they also call him a Black man, that means we are no different, so lets love one aonther like before. I love you so dearly, and I'm still proud of being Black.
Word for your soul!
He's given you the ability!
'God... gives you the ability to produce wealth...'
Without struggle, you'll never develop your potential! Have you ever watched an ant carring home a piece of bread that's bigger than him? Success belongs to those too small to carry what they believe in, but too stubborn to leave it behind! If God the creator lives within you, then you are'creative'. That means when you can't find a job, you can go out and creat one. If success doesn't come after you, get up and go after it. There are norisks-free plans.
young man once asked an old man, 'what's the secret of youur success? Good decisions,' he replied! 'How did you learn to make good dicisions? the young man asked.'By making bad ones,' the old man replied. Once you discover your gift and identify your deram, get on your mark, get set and go! Stop waiting for opportunity. Opportunity is the breath in your body and strength of your mind. If you use your God-given gifts wisely, there's no telling what you can do. But you must be a 'doer'! God doesnot give us wealth, he gives us the power to get the wealth. There's a big difference. Too many of us sit down and wait for Him to drop everything into our lap. A deram without corresponding action only aggravates the soul and amounts to nothing. God will give you the power to succeed, but you have to take it, develop plan and work at it.
South Afrikans be patient with one another, you re no better until you some thing good for someone else. When they cry, we cry, and when they laugh we laugh, because they re our brothers. Lets unite and fight the devil.
Love and respect are the cue. we need no guns or knives and name callings.A smile can heal your pain.

28 May: LUKITA
What is happening............what is this????
I lived in South Africa for 10 years, and I can tell you that I feel as if its my home. When people ask me where are you from , I tell them I am MOZA-SOUTH ( Because I was born in Mozambique and lived my teenage years in South Africa, and I can tell that I feel more connected to SA than to Mozambique).
Wake up people, this will not solve anything whatever it´s that you wish to accomplish will not happen. Maybe things would be better if we stopped being LAZY..... thats right LAZY... I am completely DISGUSTED AND ASHAMED OF WHAT IS HAPPENING.. ANY TIME THIS WILL BECAME LIKE PALESTINE AND ISRAEL...... I am not speaking as a mozambican but as an africa.

02 June: 02 June: I really cannot believe that our own people are doing this, i mean our brothers and sister in Zimbabwe are already facing hardships in their country. They came seeking for refuge and a better life, but instead for them its as if they are still in Zim because they are not free to do anything instead they are being treated like dogs. I can only imagine how they feel, i mean imagine if you run away from violence and opression only to find it again on the other side. What do you do? it is really unfair. I'm in London at the moment and in a manner of speaking i'm also a foreigner in this country, i can imagine how i would feel if the english people would turn to us and saying they don't want us in their country?.....I can only imagine, brothers and sisters please stop the violence you know how far we have come let us practise UBUNTU.........
DANELE SAYS:
02 June: Hi! I'm excited first and foremost that my first comment is on an issue that is so important and is making us as BLACK PEOPLE really view ourselves closely, and really rethink our value systems, I'm not sorry to say, PATHETIC, DISAPOINTING AND TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE. We have managed to make ourselves look like clowns by revealing that we can not solve our problems through talking, as Africans yet again. South Africans buphi ubuntu bethu ngoku, sihlazukile!!!! Our FOREFATHERS are turning in their graves, atleast I know mine are.
Question: How many White South African have killed their Non-SOuth African counterparts?
Secondly Congradulate me, it's my first moment on Metro, I AM EXCITED.

VAVAIS SAYS:
03 June: i never thought that we as Black we will fight together, kill each other as we are doing now. I thought we where fight for freedom now we are treating one, how can we fight with each other even whites never fight with each other even if the other person came from Germany or in any place. We as South Africans are hosting 2010 World Cup, who are going to come here to come here and visit our country if we are behaving like this, this is sad and stupid. I never thought i will say this but "IINGQONDO ZETHU ZIMNYAMA ZIFANA NATHI"

VAVAIS SAYS:
04 June: Finally we have come to our senses some but not all of us.Now that we the people of Parliament have spoken, thina we want the Africans to come back, what was the really reason we beat them, we kill them and burn their houses and their business, i really don't understand Black People. How are they suppose to trust to leave with us again and be friends with us while we were trying to kill them. My question is where are we going to run to if South Africa is in trouble? Where !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANDRONICAH SAYS:
05 June: i am against the killing of our fellow africans, it seems that we as south africans are a continent on our own, we are africans when it suite us, its sad how quickly we forget, the very same people we kill are the one who helped us during the apartheid era. anyway south african are full of pride, we say that this people are taking our jobs have we stopped and looked and observed that the jobs they are doing are the ones we do not want to do, you dont want to stant infront of a shop and advertise they do. and the problem again is with our government is that this people have the same laws and everything that we do and sometimes it seems as if the government cares more about them more than they do us. so if we can stop and look, this situation is causing us as a country money, the money that could have helped us. and the world is laughing at us, and who ever said that blacks are the only foreigners, when foreigners are rich and white we dont kill them but if they are poor we do. i hope and pray that this killings stop and we as a contry should apoogize and try and help make a contry safe for all the least we can do is help report those who are here illegally and maybe help them get citizenship.
ITULICIOUS SAYS:
05 June: LETS BE ONE THING ,LETS NOT KILL OUR BROTHERS N SISTERS,LETS NOT BRAKE THE S.A'S CONSTITUTION RULE CAUSE WE ARE ALL EQUAL...
SNEAR SAYS:
06 June: what comes around , goes around!
SSOLWANDLE SAYS:
06 June: I have to say I have travelled in many of the African countries and was always proud to say that I am from SA and people regardless of the language berrier still liked me and they would always mention Mandela, Brenda Fassie, Lucky Dube and the others. However lately I am ashamed to mention anywhere I walk that I am SA. My visa took a while to be approved for one of the countries.
On the 31 May I was in Kenya once they realised that I was a South African they asked what it is we were doing, burning people alive. At the moment I am in Guinea, in my office I felt like I was on trial for the sins I didn't commit. As much I do not support the acts of my fellow SA I am paying the price for their offences.
I have expressed my apology many times but it seems not convincing as I am constantly reminded of the death toll and people who lost their sense of belonging.
I have been stripped naked for the sins of my fellow SA and I am ashamed to say " I am proudly South African" .
SBOBOSH SAYS:
11 June: Vicardo just because I am Zulu does not mean that I am xhenophobic please do not generalise. my brother in ct has to carry his id everywhere he goes because he is too black to qualify as a SA. Many African brothers and sisters have greeted me "bonjou" and I responded because we are all Africans actually human beings so I don't get it when all of a sudden if you are Zulu you are xhenophobic maniac. Enough about the complaints and sad feelings lets take action
THEMBALOMHLABA SAYS:
11 June: If we are gonna turn against eachother who are we gonna rely on when we need eachother. Life is about vukuzenzele, ukuhlonipana and ukucinana. To those who think xenophobia is a must, just remember that what you reap is what you sow and always love your neighbour as much as you love yourself. I belive thats there no such a thing as a foreigner because Africa belongs to noone but GOD.
HLENGIWEH SAYS:
12 June: This abusive thing done to our brothers, our sisters, our parents disguised me. Watching other people crying need help, burning their houses, killing them because we say they are not from S.A, HELL NO! people. We have to love one another, we are all from Africa Continent(Africans) why can't we accept that. Just because i talk Shona or any launguage doe'nt mean you have to kill me. What about 2010, who will love to be here? Nobody guess why , we still have apartheid dust. Grow up South Africans we all love our country. I'm proudly South African who will not kill our BROTHERS and SISTERS from other countries.
MOMOK SAYS:
13 June: I think dat sa people go out de,do crime n den dey blame it on the zimbabweans, not fair @ all, what comes around comes around.
MOMOK SAYS:
13 June: What i meant is what goes around comes around.
YOLLIE SAYS:
13 June: Well, most people have said it all, I am currently in the UK and when I first watched CNN and BBC where these things were shown, I almost denied it was South Africa I was seeing, someone has well put it, how can i be proudly South African when my own people are being so barbaric to fellow Africans. The sad thing that truly exposed our ignorance is that, the attacks are posed at people who are just barely making a proper living themselves, I am not promoting attacks against anyone, but I even wondered if people who started these attacks knew how many non African foreign companies are truly making the money out of South Africans and grabbing real opportunities for breaks in certain sectors? Shows you how short some of us can think...but looking at it from abroad, you are just seeing a deterioration in a country that you thought was African glory and pride. Wake up fellow South Africans, umuntu ngumuntu ngabanye!!!! And lastly, these are God's people, and dont bring God's wrath unnecessarily upon yourselves and on innocent people who have committed NO SIN!!!
HLENGIWEH SAYS:
17 June: I LOVE THE LEGEND (LUCKY DUBE) SONG "TOGETHER AS ONE" look at these lines "THE CATS AND THE DOGS HAVE FORGIVEN EACH OTHER WHAT WRONG WITH US----- ALL THESE YEARS FIGHTING EACH OTHER BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION". Unity is imperative, it other we are blacks, whites, indians, europeans etc This country celebrates the 10 years of DEMOCRACY, maybe people does not really know what DEMOCRACY means. I'm young but i can see what wrong and what right, and i'm ashamed to tell these stories in near future to my grand children because this is a disguising. There is this slogan" I am proudly South African" what can make us be so proud if we behave like this as S.Africans maybe it can be change to: I am proudly African. By da way i am South African.
GENIE SAYS:
18 June: i think we should featured as moemish of the year--coz xenophobia is just plain dumb and kinda entertains all the illeterate pees in SA--shame i understand they also need amusement--pitt it comes at a price as high as human life--hope we all get severly punished for treating other humans like this--i'm truly disgusted at the thot of calling myself a south african
ISY SAYS:
19 June: I dont see how south africans can act in this manner, what happened to the spirit of ubuntu? we are complaining about foreign people taking our jobs, most of them are doing thing for themselfs eg selling on the street corner, welding, carpentry, hairdressing and lots more. We demand things to be given on a silver plate, we want that job that pays more but we dont qualify. The people are doing it for themselfs rather lets learn from them and do the same instead of killing them. Can one realy kill another just because you dont have a job. i'm ashamed to say that i'm an south african, whats south africa without africa at large.
NELEZA12 SAYS:
20 June: I was very disappointed to hear, and to see pictures of my country people hurting our brothers and sisters from other countries of Africa. We should have learned from apartheid, instead of repeating the same error.
I currently reside in the overseas, and once in a while I do cultural diversity to teach others about my country. For the past few week I found myself apologizing for this intolerable act. This situation made me think about, what if people from other countries woke up and decided that they were tired of foreigners and started to kill them without even thinking about their status, or positions in the country. That means so many people would loose their lives for a stupit reason., of which i would be one of them.
I thought about my family, friends, brothers, and sisters, that really broke my heart.
I believe that people should be held responsible for their actions. They should think first before they act, and should put themselves into others shoes to be able to think differently.
Umkhulu Mandela said, "I cherish my own freedom dearly, but I care even more for your freedom. Too many have died since I went to prison. Too many have suffered for the love of freedom. I owe it to their widows, to their orphans, to their mothers and their fathers, who have grieved and wept for them ..... Not only have I suffered during these long lonely wasted years. I am no less life-loving than you are. But I cannot sell the birthright of the people to be free ....... Only free men can negotiate. Prisoners cannot enter into contracts. Your freedom and mine cannot be separated."
All I am saying is that, South Africans have come a long way. Our mothers and fathers have paid the price for their children to have a better future. Lets not act like prisinors but respect, and love one another.
