This historical union that Marawa described as ‘marriage’ on-air will run for a period of three years.
The leading telecommunications brand and trend-setting lifestyle radio station are teaming up together to bring exclusive sport programming that will be a treat to the fans.
They are also giving away R20 000 to a creative listener who will give the show an Ayoba name. The winner will be announced during Marawa’s show on Thursday, May 17.
Chief Marketing Officer at MTN SA, Serame Taukobong said the partnership is a perfect fit for MTN as a brand that is not only passionate about sport but also associated with various sporting codes including football, cycling and rugby.
“We acknowledge the importance of radio and therefore it is innate that we look at platforms that can sustain our presence, but also our commitment to connecting fans with their passion for sport,” said Taukobong.
METRO FM Station Manager, Martin Vilakazi has confidence that the partnership will help deliver quality programming associated with The Sport Centre. “We are opening a new page that will inspire all South Africans and further confirm METRO FM as a leading radio brand that seeks to entertain, inform and educate through quality programming,” said Vilakazi.

“The Sports Centre has established itself as one of the leading sports shows in the country which covers a diverse range of sporting codes and connects fans with the latest developments on and off the playing field,” said Taukobong.
