METRO FM celebrates it’s 26th
Birthday themed “REWIND” throughout the month of September!
METRO FM plans to go retro throughout the month of September with both music and imaging.
All imaging and music will be planned throughout the day in order to ensure that we bring across clearly the message of “back in history/METRO REWIND”.
This is an opportune way to remember the Station for all that it was and what it meant for our audiences who have travelled this journey with us!
The Station kicks-off its celebration with a massive party on Saturday the 1st
September 2012 at Sedibeng in Meadowlands, Soweto. Two of our most popular shows, The METRO FM Experience presented by Minnie Dlamini and Adil More, as well as the Sound Revival presented by DJ Sbu will broadcast LIVE from the venue!
And later that day we will have METRO FM DJ’s spinning those discs until the early hours of the morning.
It is safe to say that we as a Station we have a lot to celebrate. Not only are we celebrating our birthday but as the largest commercial urban Radio Station in South Africa, that is reason enough to celebrate!
But over and above that our listenership has increased to 6.4million recently, we are a hip and happening station, we are relevant, we are a trend-setting station that entertains, informs and includes its audiences.
We also pride ourselves in boasting a pool of the most celebrated, famous DJ’s in town!
