25 May : Local producer and soul singer heads for the States
Cameroon-born artist, Wax, is making his African Dream a reality. The young producer and singer has been offered an opportunity to perform for US charity GEMS, a campaign against youth commercial sexual exploitation, in New York on June 4 among other shows. Recognized as a defender of human rights fighting causes for anti-human trafficking and xenophobia, Wax has a long history of working for charity.
The young star is also the face of a new international tourism campaign launched by the City of Joburg to showcase the opportunities that lie in Johannesburg.
The US tour will introduce Wax’s new album, African Dream, set to drop in SA this July. The first single off the record, ‘Miss real, Mr Regular’ has received much airplay and is definitely one of the songs to watch out for in 2009.
