METRO FM BOOK CLUB TOUR in POLOKWANE
METRO FM and the CITY OF POLOKWANE
present the
“Polokwane Literary Festival”
From July 26-28
In promoting the culture of reading, the station is partnering with the CITY OF POLOKWANE to bring you the Polokwane Literary Festival. The festival is the only big literary festival that happens every year in winter.
It’s an important arts initiative that has great potential to transform current discourses through features such as Writers In Conversation which sees influential personalities coming together to inform a new direction for South African Literature; the Writers Workshops which is delivered in African languages; and Real Men Talk and Word Sistas, to name a few.
The act of reading should be a lifestyle
Read, buy books: expand your mind-set
Desire and demand personal empowerment
This year, we are extending the station property 'METRO FM BOOK CLUB TOUR' to a bigger and impactful experience.
The 'METRO FM BOOK CLUB TOUR' is a concept originated on-air 6 years ago with the inception of the ‘BLACKS DO READ’ BOOK CLUB' aimed at promoting the culture of reading as a lifestyle element to an aspiring audience. The tour is largely a successful experiential extension of this feature.
